This artist enjoys the unexpected qualities and serendipitous moments that can be created with watercolors. She is fascinated with its brilliance, its clarity, and its transparency.
She attended community college at McCook NE and the University of Nebraska at Kearney attaining her teaching degrees. Teaching elementary students for 25 years was her career.
Art had held an interest for many years and with the opportunity offered at the local community college and under the instruction of nationally noted artist, Don Dernovich, she expanded into another world of artistic expression.
Many workshops from professional artists whom she admires and respects have continued to hone her skills in this medium.
Ongoing learning experiences continue to excite her interests in the visual arts and the graphic arts. She has enrolled in most of the graphic arts classes at McCook Community College. By exploring the technology of those programs, it has enabled other avenues for artistic expression.
She has exhibited with the Midwest Watercolor Society now known as TWSA, the Kentucky Watercolor Society, the 6-State Phi Theta Kappa exhibits, the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs-ANAC, the Great 8 State Kansas Watercolor Society, and others.
She participates in art festivals throughout the state having exhibits at the governor's mansion in Lincoln, the Lauritzen Gardens at the Omaha Botanical Center, and the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island and other venues.
